Responsibilities:
- Responsible for achieving their team’s KPIs.
- Responsible for complying with their team’s SLAs.
- Monitors and supervises all activities performed by team members.
- Planning, coordinating, and organizing team activities and ensuring business continuity.
- Ensures the correct implementation of all team activities, monitors performance, including quality of processes, and proposes efficiency improvements, mitigation actions or prevention measures where required.
- Ensures compliance with procedures and internal regulations within their team.
- Ensures efficient and constructive communication with all stakeholders and team members.
- Motivates and identifies the potential professional development of their team members.
- Involved in the performance management cycle by setting targets and performing regular evaluations with the team members.
- Responsible for year-end performance evaluation of their direct reports.
- Acts as a representative for their team/teams and assigned processes within the company in relation to other stakeholders.
- Prepares & distributes necessary performance & activity reports depending on stakeholders` request and/or direct upper management.
- Ensures vacation planning for their team/teams.
- Ensures that the team is effective in understanding relevant customer needs and providing accurate spot quotes to customers based on their specific requirements.
- Supports the team on any questions, issues or discrepancies related but not limited to customer requirements, process implementation, spot quote-requests, -submissions, or -rates.
- Creates activity reports to monitor spot quote process performance and has a proactive approach proposing and coordinating the implementation of process optimization ideas.
- Coordinates the team to ensure timely processing of spot quote requests from partnering global teams.
- On a need basis, supports the team operationally by directly handling spot quote requests.
Qualifications:
- Solid experience in spot quoting or pricing in air freight or a related industry
- Solid knowledge of the logistics industry (e.g. transit time statuses, Incoterms);
- Solid accounting knowledge (charging consolidation; different types of charges)
- Experience as team lead or team manager; people and operational management expertise; project management expertise.
- Excellent ability to react quickly and effectively on changing requirements; excellent ability to ensure team delivery and performance against deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Excellent time management and tasks’ organizing abilities
- Excellent ability to work effectively in a customer/ service driven environment, both individually and as a team player
- Proactive attitude identifying possible issues and the corresponding solutions, including implementation of the solutions; continuous improvement initiative
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), on direct and/or virtual collaboration with team members or business partners
- Excellent presentation skills
- Very good experience with the relevant software tools (MS Office - Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Fluent spoken and written English (academic qualification preferred)
