Responsibilities:
- Achieves individual and team objectives set by SLA (Service Contracts) and KPI (Key Performance Indicators); knows and applies the process and procedures that need to be applied.
- Respects the performance criteria set up by the direct manager, continuously striving for quality and service improvement.
- Ensures a proper understanding of relevant customer needs and prepares and provides accurate spot quotes to customers based on their specific requirements.
- Maintains proper communication with internal stakeholders to ensure the attainment of correct air freight rates.
- Ensures that the quoting process and the rates provided are compliant with the relevant regulation, company policies, and applicable standard operating procedures.
- Proactively addresses with the direct team manager any questions, issues or discrepancies related but not limited to customer requirements, process implementation, spot quote-requests, -submissions, or -rates.
- Coordinates with the rest of the team, under the supervision of the team manager, to ensure back up for processing spot quote requests.
- Coordinates with the rest of the team, under the supervision of the team manager, to ensure the processing of spot quote requests from partnering global teams.
- Creates activity reports to monitor spot quote process performance and has a proactive approach and actively considers, proposes and, under the supervision of the team manager, implements process optimization ideas.
- Acts, when requested, as a back-up for the team manager and ensures task coordination among the other team members.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role; prior relevant experience in spot quoting or pricing in air freight or a related industry
- Very good knowledge of the logistics industry (e.g. transit time statuses, Incoterms);
- Very good accounting knowledge (charging consolidation; different types of charges)
- Capable to react quickly and effectively on changing requirements; ability to deliver against deadlines and to perform against multiple priorities and detailed tasks
- Excellent time management and tasks’ organizing abilities
- Excellent ability to work effectively in a customer/ service driven environment, both individually and as a team player
- Proactive attitude identifying possible issues and the corresponding solutions, including implementation of the solutions; continuous improvement initiative
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), on direct and/or virtual collaboration with team members or business partners
- Excellent presentation skills
- Very good experience with the relevant software tools (MS Office - Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Fluent spoken and written English (academic qualification preferred)
