    Role Summary:
    The Billing Coordinator – Ocean Imports ensures that invoices are generated and mailed out to our customers in a timely and effective manner. The Billing Coordinator must also be committed to exceeding client expectations while respecting company policies.


    Principal Responsibilities: 

    (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.  It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):

    •    Provide professional customer service 

    •    Generates efficient and effective customer billing (invoicing) Import shipments 

    •    Enters billing information in Tango

    •    Read and review rate cards prior issuing invoice.  Follow up with Trade, Sales, OKAM for any missing rates

    •    Audits files to SOP’s, quotes on file or direct quotes located in files. 

    •    Coordinate with Schenker offices for charges that needs clarification. 

    •    Audit invoices from suppliers 

    •    Retrieve files and invoices for accounting as required 

    •    Excel Spreadsheets reporting internally and WIP (work in progress) reconciliation.

    •    Ensure timely billing as per KPIs and Customer SOPs  

    •    Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. 


    Skills and Competencies:

    (The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel):

    •    Minimum two years' experience in Group Freight operations with solid understanding and knowledge of Ground Freight billing requirements 

    •    Strong Computer skills – MS Word, Excel, etc. 

    •    Excellent customer service skills required 

    •    Attention to detail and strong follow-up skills a must 

    •    Good planning and organizational skills 

    •    Ability and willingness to work in team environment as well as independently 

    •    Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in fast paced environment.
