Supporting India’s energy transition: DB Schenker to deliver 240 wind turbine blades in highly complex logistics project

International large-scale project logistics for windfarms in India • 240 wind turbine blades each 76.8 meters long and weighing more than 19 tons • 153.6 meters span of a wind turbine is taller than New York’s Statue of Liberty • Total transport volume of almost 274,000 cubic meters and weight of 4,600 tons

Project logistics experts from DB Schenker are currently handling an impressive logistics order to support India in creating a stable and sustainable power supply. A total of 240 wind turbine blades are being transported from a plant in Sheyang, China to Kandla Port in India for Envision Energy, a global leader in green technology and renewable energy solutions and India’s top wind turbine supplier.

The 240 wind turbine blades are being transported from the Sheyang production plant in China to Kandla Port in India between May and December 2024. The total project volume adds up to almost 274,000 cubic meters with a weight of 4,600 tons. Each blade measures 76.8 meters in length and weighs nearly 19.3 tons. The 153.6 meters span of a single wind turbine is taller than the Statue of Liberty.
