Business Development Manager - Airfreight

Salary: Competitive + car allowance + bonus + benefits
Location: Manchester. This role will be based between home and office. This role will also involve regular travel to visit clients in the region.
What You Will Be Doing?
- Develop a robust air freight sales pipeline across key sectors
- Identify and pursue new air freight business opportunities through market research and proactive outreach.
- Manage enquiries, RFQs, and tenders from inception to conclusion.
- Collaborate with the Air Product team to craft customer-centric value propositions.
- Contribute to the strategic growth of our air business unit in the UK.
- Present compelling, value-adding solutions aligned with DB Schenker's standards.
- Ensure new business is in line with our internal financial guidelines.
- Develop and maintain influential relationships within potential major clients.
About You
- Has a proven sales record in acquiring new business and exceeding sales targets.
- Possesses a significant background in Air or multi-modal freight forwarding.
- Has experience in managing tenders leading to significant opportunities.
- Is skilled at building trust and establishing high-quality relationships with customers.
- Demonstrates effective presentation skills and excellent written and spoken English.
