    The Senior Director of Capacity and Planning is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of capacity planning, network execution, and resource optimization within DB Schenker Land Transport. This role plays a critical part in driving revenue growth, optimizing expenses, and leading the development of high-performing teams. The Senior Director will ensure that all capacity and planning strategies align with the company’s goals and objectives, delivering exceptional service levels while maximizing profitability. Tasks & Responsibilities: • Strategic Leadership: Drive the strategic direction of capacity planning and network execution, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and market conditions. • Capacity Development: Lead the creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of capacity strategies across all transportation modes to meet service levels and financial goals. • Network Optimization: Oversee the design and execution of network strategies, ensuring optimal transportation flows, reduced empty miles, improved trailer utilization, and maximized revenue per truck. • Vendor and Partner Management: Manage key relationships with capacity vendors and partners, ensuring collaboration and alignment to achieve operational goals. • Operational Excellence: Lead initiatives to enhance planning efficiencies and KPI performance, driving continuous improvement in operational processes, including the deployment of technology solutions such as the Freight Science modules and Capacity Mobile App. • Team Leadership: Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. Oversee team development, compliance management, and conflict resolution. • Financial Performance: Achieve revenue and gross profit growth goals by optimizing capacity planning and network design, ensuring decisions align with the company’s budget and profitability objectives. • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze market data, internal network metrics, and customer feedback to guide strategic decisions, provide insights to senior management, and adapt strategies to changing market conditions.
    Details/Specification/Explanation of the role specific skills: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Manager or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred • 10+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field, with a strong background in Capacity Planning, Network Execution, and Operational Leadership • Experience with logistics software, network design tools, and mobile applications • Strategic thinking and leadership capabilities • Strong analytical and market analysis skills • Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams and projects • Excellent communication and conflict management abilities • Financial acumen with experience in managing budgets and achieving profitability targets • Technical proficiency in logistics software and planning tools We are an equal opportunity employer.
