Each month we publish information about fuel and currency surcharges (BAF & CAF) and other surcharges that DB Schenker uses.
The surcharges are determined by our suppliers and are therefore difficult for us at DB Schenker to influence. Note that it is the shipping date that determines which surcharge applies.

What is a sulfur surcharge?The sulfur directive SECA tightened the rules for release of sulfur in water bodies including the Baltic Sea, the North Sea and the English channel. A sulfur content of 0.10 percent by weight is allowed in the fuel that is used on board.
The sulfur directive has increased the cost of oil for shipping companies, which has meant that a sulfur surcharge has been introduced for freight. Read more

The surcharges that apply to air freight are fuel and security surcharges (FSC and SSC). These supplements are determined by our suppliers and are therefore difficult for us at DB Schenker to affect. Please note that it is the shipping date that determines which surcharge apply.
