DB Schenker deploys electric Renault Trucks in Belgium

Tilburg, 18 December 2024 – With expanding its fleet in Belgium by four electric 16t Renault Trucks, DB Schenker, one of the world's leading logistics service providers, is taking another step towards a sustainable future in logistics.

The new electric trucks were delivered mid-December and will be deployed from the land transport terminals in Mechelen and Zwevegem.

Pierre van Diesen, CEO at DB Schenker Benelux: “By adding four electric Renault Trucks to our Benelux fleet for last-mile delivery, we emphasize our commitment to leading the transition to a sustainable future of transport. It is our goal to offer low-emission transport solutions to our customers across the Benelux.”

“Renault Trucks Belux is pleased with the materialization of the partnership with DB Schenker in Belgium, as part of its European collaboration. This marks a significant next step toward decarbonized operations,” says Pierre Jean Verge Salamon, Managing Director Renault Trucks Belux.

On the way to sustainable logistics, DB Schenker continuously invests in innovative, low-emission solutions for land, air, and sea freight. This commitment meets the increasing customer demand for reducing the CO₂ emissions of their supply chains and helps customers to achieve their sustainability goals. The use of electric trucks like the Renault Truck D 16t 4x2 is an important contribution to reducing CO₂ emissions in land transport. Additionally, the electric drive offers much quieter operation compared to traditional combustion engines, making these trucks ideal for urban environments.
