Introduction
This page provides a brief overview of the general terms and conditions (T&C) that apply to the various services of the Schenker entities in MEA, relating to freight forwarding, land transport, air and ocean freight, contract logistics, and supply chain management services. Customers are advised to read the T&Cs of each before requesting or accepting any goods or services from Schenker.
FIATA Model Rules
The FIATA Model Rules are a set of rules for freight forwarding services that are adopted by the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations. Schenker applies these rules when they are incorporated, in writing or otherwise, into a contract by referring to the "FIATA Model Rules for Freight Forwarding Services". The rules define the roles and responsibilities of the freight forwarder and the customer, as well as the limits of liability for loss, damage, delay, and other types of damages. The rules also cover the procedures for claims, disputes, and defines the jurisdiction.
Schenker Land Transport Terms and Conditions
The Schenker Land Transport Terms and Conditions are the specific terms and conditions that govern the land transport services provided by Schenker, such as road, rail, and intermodal transport. Schenker applies these rules when they are incorporated, in writing or otherwise, into a contract by referring to the "Schenker Land Transport Terms and Conditions". These terms and conditions specify the scope of services, the obligations of the customer and Schenker, the liability regime, the insurance options, the payment terms, and the governing law and jurisdiction. The terms and conditions also include a notice concerning the limitation of liability; therefore, customers are advised to obtain adequate insurance cover to protect their interests.
