The Business Development Manager is responsible for the development of new business for the division Contract Logistics. The job role encompasses customer relationship, tender management tasks, acting as project manager for new sales opportunities between different stakeholders, handing over new sale accounts to the implementation department and interaction with counterparts in our own organization and that of potential customers. The role of the BD manager is one that is of strategic importance to the achievement of Schenker Korea Contract Logistics growth targets
- Perform active business development for Contract Logistics and realise additional business to generate growth, increase customer base, revenue, and profit
- Build strategic relationships with key contacts within customer organizations to understand opportunities for DB Schenker to create value
- Work closely with customers, business partners and internal operations to deliver advanced business solutions
- Analyze business requirements, act internally as a project manager in order to come up with appropriate and high-standard customer solutions
- Cost analyzing and price modeling
- Cross sell DB Schenker services
- Presentation of convincing solutions to internal stakeholders and customers
- Direct operational issues to the correct operational owner
- Ensure DB Schenker and customer expectations are aligned
- Maintain close customer communication
- Further development of the marketing & sales strategy including target markets, target accounts and target services
Skills Required
- Proven sales skills including outstanding negotiation and persuasion skills

- Hands on mentality and out of the box thinking
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
- Thorough insight and knowledge of the contract logistics industry, the (potential) customers, the competitors, and other relevant players

- Solid financial understanding about profitability, costing, and pricing
- Good understanding of Microsoft basic tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Very good English skills (written & verbal)
Experience and Qualifications
- Academic degree, preferably diploma in Business Administration, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or another relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years experience with sales of 3PL / Contract Logistics services or related areas incl. track record
- Basic financial understanding
- Solid understanding of supply chain and transportation
- Customer contacts related to contract logistics
