Position Description Summary: Responsible for the direction and management of export activities at a station level or assigned area. Principal Accountabilities (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.): • Ensure high-level export customer service • Oversee and manage all export related activities in accordance with policies and procedures • Work directly with the [1] U.S. Customs Service for various specialized U.S. [2] Customs clearance requirements • Provide up-to-date guidance on current carrier and international requirements and Export Regulations • Communicating information and instructions to/from vendors • Support sales department to develop and maintain export revenues • Negotiate and monitor export rates and services to reduce operating costs and increase profitability • Research and resolve customer complaints on export sales, service, and operational issues • Ensure the Initiation and maintenance of customer master profiles in order to have correct information on hand in order to offer consistent service • Audit and research service performance issues and develop recommendations for improvements • Ensure a safe working environment through consistent practice of safety programs and procedures • Select and place staff, ensure staff receives training for their job activities, and define specific job assignments. Manage performance to ensure required levels of productivity and organizational objectives are met • Utilize effective communication skills / methods with internal and external customers • Other duties as assigned The individual in this position must be capable of performing all of the essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Knowledge and Skills (The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel):
• This is a management position.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent strongly preferred
• Generally prefer 2-4 years of related supervisory/management and export/international experience.
• Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, communication, and analytical skills required
• Knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of general freight forwarding terms and standards.
• Knowledge of U.S. Customs Regulations and Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
• Basic knowledge of accounting functions and relative information retrieval.
