Position Description Summary:
The primary function of the work-stream and of the role of Ocean Support Specialist is to ensure and enable day to day operational stability and standardization across network.
Principal Accountabilities (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):
* Support
* · Provide onsite and remote support to operational staff in all process and core system related areas
* · Act as triage for all service failures, analysis of root cause, determine and ensure corrective action plans are executed
* · Establish Super User Network in Region
* · Establish and execute operational continuous improvement program
* · Deployment support for TOM@Ocean initiative
*
* A. Testing & Training
* · Perform User Acceptance Testing against releases of core systems and/or new operational tools
* · Identification of functions and offices/users where additional training required
* · Creation/Validation of all operational training materials and user guides
* · Organize and conduct both in class and webinar trainings
*
* B. Governance
* · Ensure regional adherence to global SOP and operational guidelines
* · Documentation of regional SOPs and workflows
* · Define process metrics, measures and establish baselines for on-going operational reporting
* · Perform Operational Audits
The individual in this position must be capable of performing all of the essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.
* Knowledge and Skills (The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel):
* · Bachelors/Masters Degree preferably in Transportation and Logistics or equivalent technical degree
* · Solid understanding of Ocean Freight Operations
* · Strong analytical, critical thinking skills and research capabilities
* · Proactive, positive, enthusiastic and self-driven
* · Strong business acumen, attention to details and strong organizational skills
* · Understanding of Supply Chain Logistics / Freight Forwarding industry
* · Solid working knowledge of TANGO and other core Schenker Tools
* · Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word
* · Strong oral, written and presentation skills. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
* · Experienced in analyzing and documenting business processes and work flows.
* · Experienced in delivering well-organized and effective presentations and training.
* · Quality management or project management is considered an asset
