Milling Operator I

Position Description Summary:

Operates precision milling machine for processing of non-metallic parts. 

 (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.  It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):

·        Follow Standard operating procedures and/or work instructions

·        Operate all inspection and production equipment to include Computer Operated Milling Machines and laser measurement to insure quality acceptance of parts

·        Maintain high standard of order and arrangement of the operation area and equipment, daily

·        Maintain department production records and documentation

·        Maintains area supplies, tooling, measurement devices to meet production

·        Material handling by use of pallet jacks and lift trucks when permitted

·        Process parts with with particular attention to detail

·        Involves operation of automated and manual equipment.  

·        Equipment operation is focused on performing repetitive tasks.   

·        Perform other duties as assigned by supervision

Knowledge and Skills (The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel):

·        Ability to read and write with basic mechanical and computer knowledge. Ability to use and understand MSDS data, and use personal protective equipment (rubber gloves, safety glasses, and safety shoes). Must be able to obtain a pallet jack license. High school diploma or equivalent required. Generally prefer 2+ years experience preferred. Good interpersonal skills required.
