    • Contribute to sustainable and maximized organisational results and performance through leading the operational delivery of the Ocean Freight team and growing the product line. Build a high level of brand awareness and reputation as key contact to our top clients.
    • Develop and prepare an action plan and forecast for each targeted Key Account Client to increase market share and deliver the growth strategy for the Ocean Freight product, taking cognisance of client realities.
    • Establish and develop a network with potential and existing customers or key accounts and increase revenue through the identification of opportunities for growing current client business to achieve sales targets and results. 
    • Provide visible support in resolving client concerns and challenges through facilitating the creation of Ocean Freight solutions to meet Key Account Client’s on going and changing needs.
    • Ensure high level service delivery through the management of the Ocean Freight life cycle from inception to completion placing particular emphasis on relevance, efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Coordinate and assist with the on-going Ocean Freight Projects and provide active daily support to expedite operations related to Ocean Freight.
    • Administer and maintain the Ocean freight rate schedules, taking cognisance of buying and selling trends on an individual carrier and customer basis while collaborating with the pricing team in respect of the calculation of cost structures, thereby ensuring consistent and competitive pricing agreements.

    • Develop and establish relationships with internal teams etc. and through these partnerships resolve queries on Ocean Accounts, thereby ensuring seamless and quality service to the client.
    • Increase confidence in and the reputation of the business in respect of all stakeholders while driving brand awareness and loyalty to clients.
    • Lead the Ocean Freight team through coaching, developing and motivating subordinates including follow-up of team and individual performance against targets and objectives aligned with overall company strategy.
    • Proactively ensure that all activities in the area of responsibility are compliant with current legal & company specific regulations including adhering to ISO procedures and report on monthly KPI’s & Event Controls.
    • Role related Qualifications/Skills:
    • 10 years’ relevant experience of which 5 years’ managing an ocean freight function
    • Comprehensive knowledge of International Ocean Industry and sales processes
    • Relevant Technical and Industry experience
    • Self-discipline, integrity and reliability
