DB Schenker TSC Nanjing 2018 Hackathon Competition held at 29th November 2018. It is an activity like Marathon in IT field involving close teamwork with focused efforts to accomplish the given coding project in 24 hours. The competition does not only push the limits of ones’ coding skills, but also inspire the teamwork spirit in such a tight time.
To dig out the young talents from universities and show the technical strength of DB Schenker TSC Nanjing, 12 students from different universities were invited to join the activity and accomplish the competition with the guidance of our colleagues.
Our CEO Volker Witzel was invited to give an opening speech on that day, encouraging students to have fun and demonstrate their IT talent.
12 students were separated into 3 teams, named WE, Tsia and MAC. After 24 hours intense work, MAC team won the technology excellence award, students Alice Shao, Rui Feng and Shane Sheng were elected by their team members as the best contributor award, at last after 10 minutes’ presentation, WE team has won the team spirit award.
Although this was the first time that TSC Nanjing held hackathon activity, it has ended with a big success. It involves the common efforts of different departments and demonstrated the great teamwork spirit within the teams. Meanwhile, the activity is also important for improving our employer attractiveness in the local market, showing our technical strength as a good IT Employer choice.
