With a focus on outstanding customer service, play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of cargo for the Global Projects team.
- Performing day-to-day operations of international and domestic project shipments, including delivery
- Preparing quotes for air & ocean freight and domestic land transport shipments
- Job registration and operating of job files using the company systems.
- Attending customer sites or ports to assist with the safe loading/unloading of cargo
- Supporting business development team prepare tenders
- Provide high level of Customer Service by effectively communicating with client to ensure they are kept up to date as required.
- Contribute as a member of the broader projects team.
- Assist with the ongoing account management of existing clients and improving customer satisfaction.
- Attend department meetings.
- Ensure all DB Schenker’s WHS, policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Other duties as directed.

This role may require intrastate, interstate or international travel.
- Previous experience in Freight Forwarding (including air, sea and domestic freight operations) or Supply Chain required
- Experience working with customs and quarantine.
- Previous exposure to project clients and their particular requirements highly advantageous
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Demonstrated ability & confidence to negotiate with clients and sub-contractors to achieve a best commercial outcome.
- Good Mathematical & Reasoning skills
- Demonstrates a willingness to work flexible hours (outside of standard working hours) if required by the clients.
- Confidence and ability working with and learning new systems
- Working knowledge of all the relevant Schenker systems, programs and processes.
- Extensive knowledge in air, sea and domestic freight operations work, preferably with local hands-on exposure to major project clients.
- Experience in customs and quarantine.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate on behalf of Schenker, with clients and sub-contractors at the highest level.
- Has working knowledge of quality assurance systems, their implementation and supervision.
