The Air Pricing Specialist is to support the Pricing head and work closely with Tender Management, APAC countries, Product Management Air, Regional Pricing counterparts, and Key Account Management on the pricing aspect of the RFQ.
The position shall:
- Support new pricing process and ensure standards and quality
- Ensure complete and competitive pricing from Asia Pacific region
- Support Pricing head in customer meetings/negotiations as required
The Pricing Specialist is responsible for:
- Support pricing head in the quality assessment of the countries and pricing team
- Translate and cascade global/Regional pricing instructions into RFQ pricing instructions for involved country pricing teams
- Checking for completeness and correctness of country submissions in accordance to customer service requirements
- Reviews and benchmark pricing received from the countries to ensure competitive submissions to the customers
- Handle pricing inquiries from countries
- Comprehensive translation from internal pricing file to external customer file
- Ensure timely, competitive and complete submission of RFQ rate cards and other requirements to Tender Management or APAC/Global Pricing Lead
- Monitor and follow up on bid status and results
- Support agreed pricing process, data quality and compliance
- Work with and keep updated with pricing relevant software e.g. GTP, SPACE, RCM
- Support special projects relevant to Pricing
Skills Required:
- Experience in managing an RFQ
- Knowledge of forwarding business
- Good project management skills to stay on top of multiple deadlines for multiple bids in parallel
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to properly engage with country pricing teams of different cultural backgrounds
- Strong analytical mind ideally paired with operational experience to be able to quickly understand and challenge country bid input
- Ability to work under pressure to cope with periods of high workload and tight timelines
- Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
- Willingness to work overtime
- Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel (Pivot table, V/H-Lookup etc)
- Fluency in English
Experience and Qualifications:
- Completed University degree / Polytechnic / Industry apprenticeship
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Air Pricing, RFP/RFQ management, Operations, Customer service or Sales planning/support.
