Position Description Summary:
Responsible for evaluating and managing new complex logistics management initiatives and business opportunities for our clients and potential clients. Oversee market analysis, monitor competitive activity and identify customer needs. Provide leadership in planning, designing, and implementing of business plans for direct reports in the business development arena. Help define and integrate the regional team’s vision, strategies, and tactics for account retention, organic growth with existing accounts and growth of the regional account base in supply chain/logistics.
Principal Accountabilities (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):
· Establish customer contact and rapport to maintain awareness of customer’s business objectives in conjunction with ongoing account maintenance.
· Utilize customer knowledge to develop additional or new opportunities
· Qualify inquiries/bids against target market, core competency, revenue potential, company capabilities, and projected business forecast
· Manage RFP process to include solution design concepts, deadlines, supply added information, presentation, process/status tracking
· Create written strategic action plans for customer management and expansion
· Oversee projects and business relationships, exceeding customer’s expectations.
· Responsible for directing contractual negotiations, and assisting/participating in the negotiations as necessary.
· Responsible for sales/margin/profit growth.

Knowledge and Skills (The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel):
This is a director position. Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Generally prefer 6-8 years of related management experience.
