- Follow standard operating procedures and/or work instructions.
- Perform quality assurance pre-inspection, in-process checks, and final inspections per department Standard Operating Procedures.
- Reading/understanding/developing blueprints/drawings, balloon drawings.
- Identify tests and measurements to be made, the accuracy required, and select the appropriate inspection, measuring, and test equipment.
- Reading/understanding blueprints/drawings and Control Plans to identify, setup, and perform inspection and measurement operations.
- Maintain and update calibration record manuals.
- Identify tests and measurements to be made, the accuracy required, and select the appropriate inspection, measuring, and test equipment.
- Report and document internal and external non-conformances.
- Document QA test/inspection findings; file in accordance to department procedures; and supply to customers as requested. •Reject any non-conforming product from being allowed for use or shipped to a customer.
- Calibrate inspection measuring test equipment accurately, and ensure the equipment has been calibrated for accuracy.
- Perform measurement instrument GR&R operations.
- Perform “PPAP”, “CAP” studies; perform “1st Article inspections.
- May require handling of items up to 50 lbs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
- Maintain assigned in-process quality checks and setups to help ensure that quality and production requirements are met.
What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)
- Ability to read and write with capable use of general writing and math functions
- Ability to follow instructions
- Prefer knowledge of parts inspection and measurement operations Special knowledge
- Prefer a minimum 5 years of experience
- Knowledge of quality inspection study formats
- Prefer technical education in machine part inspection/measurement operations, or comparable fields. Soft skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Should be dependable
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work safely
