    • Implement regional strategies in regard to organizational footprint and design, process optimization and standardization within Cluster/Country Air Operations.
    • Leverage global shared service opportunities or centralized opportunities within Cluster/Country.
    • Alignment and overall governance of Country Air Operations, standards and associated global KPIs.
    • Drive adherence to Operational SOPs, KPIs and regulatory compliance.
    • Drive productivity and performance improvement programs through optimization of process, structure in line with regional strategy.
    • Drive implementation of digitalization and workflow tools to achieve digital file processing.
    • Collaborate with Regional Air Operations support the development and/or deployment of new processes and solutions.
    • Manage the cluster/ country operations teams as per the cluster/country organisation chart.
    • Drive and manage the rollout of TOM@Air within cluster/country.
    • Liaise with other air product managers to elaborate/ support ocean strategies and solutions
    • Manage operations resources as per productivity and forecast’ targets.
    • Provide cost analysis, budget or any other analysis as requested by management.
    • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement within the Air country operations team.
    • The role requires an individual who has strong leadership skills in Air freight with several years of working experience in the freight forwarding environment.  
    • Profound knowledge of air freight forwarding and operational requirements.  
    • Good communication and leadership skills as the role requires frequent communication to various directions and all management levels.
    • Ability to manage and lead operations teams.
    • Analytical.
    • Process driven and always seeking for continuous improvement. 
    • Cooperative team working attitude.  
    • Quality and efficiency driven working style.  
    • Fluent in Business English (spoken and written). 
    • Proactive, positive, enthusiastic and self-driven.
    • The role requires an individual who has a degree in logistics with at least 8 years of working experience in the freight forwarding business and track record in managing air operations teams successfully.
    • Deep understanding of air freight forwarding.
    • Fluent in Business English (spoken and written).

    The Head of Country Air Operations is responsible of the overall Air operations including the management of the country operation team and the optimization of all the air freight processes and systems.

    The Head of Country Air Operations reports functionally to the Head of Airfreight South Africa to ensure that all processes and operational decisions made are in line with the global/regional strategy.
