This year marks a significant milestone for SCHENKER Myanmar as we celebrate our 25th anniversary as a leading international freight forwarder in the country. Prior to officially establishing as SCHENKER Myanmar, the company began operations locally. Ivy Swe, our dedicated Branch Manager since 2024, brings extensive experience in logistics over 11 years. We spoke with Ivy about her vision for SCHENKER Myanmar in this dynamic market.
-Could you elaborate on your professional background and your current role at SCHENKER Myanmar?
I’ve been a part of Schenker Myanmar for the past five years, initially joining as Head of Sales. I’m proud to announce that I’ve recently been appointed Branch Manager of Schenker Myanmar. As Branch Manager, I'm committed to driving sales, fostering strong relationships with our customers, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our branch.
-Can you share a brief history of Schenker Myanmar's journey over the past 25 years?
It has been an incredibly fascinating journey over the past 25 years that Schenker Myanmar has embarked on. As a pioneer in the country, Schenker Myanmar has not only maintained a leading role in the industry but also worked tirelessly to provide the right solutions for our customers’ business growth.
-How has Schenker Myanmar adapted its services to meet the changing needs of its customers over the years?
Throughout the years, we have continually strived to improve and innovate, constantly adapting to the changing needs of the market. Our commitment to excellence and dedication to our customers have been the driving forces behind our success. Looking back, we are proud of what we have accomplished and excited for what the future holds for Schenker Myanmar.
-How does Schenker Myanmar ensure the reliability and efficiency of its logistics services?
It is crucial for the team to understand customer needs, which requires active listening and gathering feedback to improve our products and services' reliability to meet customers' expectations.
-What advice would you offer businesses aiming to optimize their supply chains within Myanmar?
It is important for us to be adaptable to the ever-changing market in Myanmar. This means being open to new ideas and being willing to evolve our strategies and approaches as needed.
-What steps does Schenker Myanmar take to understand and fulfill the specific needs of its customers?
Actively listening to customers' needs and understanding their business models allows us to contribute to their growth. By staying current and flexible, we can better meet the demands of our customers.
-How has Schenker Myanmar engaged with the local community and contributed to social development over the past 25 years?
Our team has been continuously engaging with local communities in various environmental projects. Recently, we volunteered to recycle waste on the beach at Chaung Thar.
-As SCHENKER Myanmar celebrates its 25th anniversary, what is your vision for the future?
Our drive for better solutions sets us apart and propels us toward success. By maintaining a strong focus on understanding market needs and working together as a team, we believe we can continue to achieve even greater success in the future.
-Reflecting on your tenure as the branch manager, what are some of the most memorable moments or experiences you have had with Schenker Myanmar?
My past six months as Branch Manager have been incredibly exciting. One of the most thrilling aspects of my job is listening to my team members and meeting with valuable customers. I’m proud to have celebrated our 25th anniversary with our customers and our dedicated team. It has been one of the most valuable moments of my career so far.
