Job Overview
Responsible for pulling orders, prepping for outbound shipment, loading and unloading freight accurately, inspection and other warehouse related duties. Ensure all products are accurately pulled and over-packed correctly to customer expectations.
What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)
- Safely operate forklift and other material handling equipment (MHE) including sit down, reach truck, cherry picker, layer pick, etc.
- Load inbound and outbound freight to and from vehicles and containers
- Accurately pull orders based on location, part number, batch and quantity
- Placard, weigh, and record dimensions on appropriate paperwork
- Sort outbound freight based on carrier lane assignments
- Over-box pallets, wrap pallets and strap pallets in preparation for shipment
- Perform cleanup activities in the work area to ensure safety and cleanliness of dock
- Keeping shipping supplies organized and communication on supply needs
- Daily forklift inspection sheet completed prior to operation of forklift
- Complete other duties or tasks as assigned
What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)
- This is an intermediate level position.
- Good interpersonal skills required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Generally, prefer 1-4 years of experience.
- Must be familiar with OSHA regulations, able to operate a variety of equipment such as a forklift and a computer, and have strong organizational, inventory and accounting skills.
- Physical requirements include, but are not limited to pushing, pulling, lifting varying weights up to 50+lbs.
