Flexibags for transporting liquids across Indonesia and the world

Transporting liquids is not as simple as packing goods in a shipping container. Especially if the liquid is being transported over a long distance from Surabaya to multiple destinations in Europe and the Middle East.
This was the case recently when the Indonesia Reefer team received a phone call from a customer about the transport of Used Cooking Oil (UCO) and Crude Palm Oil (CPO). The oil had to be transported safely, air-tight, and water-tight all through the journey.
To transport the liquid the team used a flexibag. It is the safest and most cost-effective for carrying non-hazardous liquid cargo. Flexibags have a capacity ranging from 10,000 to 24,000 liters and can be transported via sea, land, and rail.
It preserves the quality of the stored liquid products. It also makes the loading and unloading process easier and avoids waste of liquids after unloading.
Furthermore, it reduces the risk of contamination from other liquids because it is used only once and then recycled.
For this shipment, we also used a flexibag heat pad. Due to low temperatures during transport, oil easily solidifies which makes unloading difficult. This is not a desirable situation. A heat pad, placed below and on top of the flexibag, makes it possible to reheat the liquid before unloading, making the process a lot easier.
