On August 6, 2020, PT Schenker Petrolog Utama (SPU), part of DB Schenker, added four double deck wing box trucks to the existing land transport fleet.
The new trucks allow for effective inventory management because of the use of pallets instead of traditional floor loaded freight.
In addition to more efficient inventory management, the new trucks help customers to track their shipments from origin to destination because the pallets are easy to count and track. Furthermore, palletized transport minimizes damage in transit and improves the CO2 footprint.
“For our customers, we constantly strive for an optimal mix of transport solutions,” said Indra Hardani, Director Land Transport. “With the addition of the new trucks, we are excited to provide our customers the opportunity for more efficient loading. It also helps to load more goods because of its double capacity.”
SPU expects to further expand its fleet of double deck trucks in 2021. The company currently deploys 232 vehicles as part of its domestic land distribution business in Indonesia.
