Ignacio is fighting to win a tender
Ignacio, Solutions Design Senior Manager
The invitation to a tender is the start signal for Ignacio, solutions design senior manager in Latin America, to communicate with different teams in the DB Schenker universe to offer the best logistics solution for the potential customer:
"We set up a team that manages to put the different parts together to provide a technical and commercial proposal, that convinces the customer, we are the best option."
Every day he is working on Contract Logistics projects which are related to a new business, for example, the renewal of an existing operation, the expanding of a current customer relation or capturing a new business.
This year Ignacio participated in a tender for a global customer who was looking to expand its presence through a distribution center in Chile. For seven months Ignacio worked together with the global, regional and local teams to talk about cost elements and to figure out several alternatives to fit the customer’s needs. As part of a broader team of experts, they managed to find a solution for each of the requirements the customer had, making this a historic contract award for the country.
“I’m really satisfied when we win a tender. I’m passionate given the number of logistic problems which must be solved every day to build up a comprehensive solution. On the other hand, it is always hard when we miss an opportunity after such an effort. But I believe that each one of those events is increasing Latin American countries’ confidence and expertise, where we are growing Schenker’s contract logistics presence!”
He likes to share the experience he gained in 9 years working for DB Schenker.
“I started working as a continuous improvement leader in an Automotive operation and was able to develop into a manager, then moved to a regional role this year. This development was possible thanks to the valuable training I got from DB Schenker. I also want to thank each teammate I’ve met throughout these years. It was a great opportunity for me.”
One thing Ignacio likes most about working for DB Schenker is the sense of camaraderie which can be found across teams, which makes it easy to get support.
And we are happy to have your support, Ignacio. Thank you for putting all your engagement into the work with our customers.
