    The Driver Orientation Instructor is responsible for ensuring the proper completion of all classroom presentations and forms. This position is also responsible for guiding new driver team members through the company orientation procedures, curriculum and testing processes to provide them the information needed to effectively and efficiently function in their role. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES •Accurately present approved material in a professional and positive manner. •Ensure on time completion of scheduled classes and forms. •Confirm successful completion of required activities, exams, paperwork, etc. •Manage class participants and the overall classroom setup to ensure an effective learning atmosphere is maintained. •Effectively resolve complaints, requests and questions. •Maintain proper inventory of supplies needed to conduct orientation processes. •Conduct road test evaluations, Smith System Training, and drive company shuttle vans as needed. •Inspect New OTR Truck Assignments. •Provide exceptional customer service to all driver candidates. •May be responsible for supervision of assigned staff.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS •Meet DOT physical requirements •High school diploma or equivalent •Excellent communication skills and ability to conduct group presentations •Two years of transportation related experience PREFERRED SKILLS •Proficiency in Microsoft Office •Knowledge of DOT and Federal Employment regulations related to the hiring process •Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience •Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results •Ability to promote a culture of trust and safety •Class A CDL with passenger endorsement WORKING CONDITIONS This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required to: •Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. •Frequently operate a computer for extended periods of time and regularly operate other office productivity machines. •Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and move up to 20 pounds of office objects. •Frequently communicate with peers, supervisors, third parties, and other employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions. •Occasionally attend meetings in buildings outside corporate office and at off-site locations with various internal conditions, and requiring travel in various external conditions. •Travel domestically as necessary.
