Purpose and Main Tasks:
- Support the creation and management of ocean export documentation under supervision.
- Assist in performing Advance Cargo Reporting (ACR) activities.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders on shipment-related communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter cargo and container details into TMS (TANGO) based on provided documentation.
- Assist in preparing MBL instructions for the carrier and verifying draft MBL details.
- Support the update of shipment schedules (ETD/ETA) and enter ATD into TMS (TANGO).
- Help with the digital archiving of shipment-related documents (ODM).
- Assist in issuing and releasing HBL following standard procedures.
- Monitor shipment "on board" status with carriers and notify the team of changes.
- Provide support for ACR filings and ensure data accuracy.
Expectations and Skills Development:
- Learn to utilize DB Schenker's TMS (TANGO) for data management.
- Gain understanding of ocean freight documentation and shipment processes.
- Develop communication skills by engaging with vendors and internal teams.
- Practice attention to detail in handling export documentation and data entry.
Supervision and Guidance:
- The intern will work under the guidance of the Ocean Freight team and report to a supervisor for task allocation and feedback.
Eligibility
- Open to candidates currently pursuing their Diploma or Bachelor's degree in any relevant field (Operations, Logistics, Business Administration, etc.).
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Strong organizational skills and a keen interest in learning ocean freight operations.
- Can commit to a full-time internship schedule for at least 3 months.
