To maintain company equipment in accordance with company standards, while maximizing utilization and uptime with a focus on company cost objectives. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES. •Capable of performing most major repairs with limited guidance or supervision. •Repair equipment in the most effective manner with a focus on quality and cost control. •Perform effective diagnostic routines that identifies root cause and determine best repair method. •Provide mentoring and training to less experienced technicians. •Conduct all repairs in a manner that emphasizes personal and coworker safety. •Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment. •Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience. •Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results. •Able to promote a culture of trust and safety.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS. •High School diploma or equivalent •Proficient in computer based maintenance systems •Vendor sponsored training in major vehicle components PREFERRED SKILLS. •Minimum five years of experience in Class 8 maintenance and repair WORKING CONDITIONS. This position will be required to work in a shop environment in which the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration, heat and cold, and increased levels of noise, and •Constantly positions oneself to operate, inspect, and move up to 60 pounds, •manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard on a daily basis, •detect, recognize and assess printed text and hand written documents, •be able to communicate and exchange accurate information.
