Job Overview
Responsible for supporting the daily aim to find the fastest and most efficient way of shipping AOG shipments to the final destination requested by the customer. In order to provide customer service several options need to be provided to the customer in regard to airlines, departure locations, trucking possibilities, counter to counter arrangements, hand carries, and interline possibilities.
What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)
- Receive, review and process high-volume and/or complex import and export transactions for clients, including booking, billing, classifications, processing data through the Company’s system and obtaining consular releases as well as other government agency releases as appropriate
- Ensure proper handling of AOG shipments from pick up to deliver and continuous information flow between shipper, consignee, customer and Schenker network.
- Adhere to all domestic and international shipping regulations, communicating changes in domestic and foreign regulation procedures to client, co-workers and third parties in a clear, concise and timely manner.
- Organization and coordination of Import/Export/Domestic AOG shipments (Aircraft on Ground) within Schenker network (National and Global), including hazmat cargo, oversize shipments, monitoring customs clearance with local branch or RLF department.
- Identify transactions and tasks that require special handling, recommend improved processes to management and implement resolutions within assigned scope of responsibility.
- Communicate with local branches, shipper, consignee, Schenker Network as necessary to ensure proper handling of shipments and on-time delivers.
- Directly responsible for the daily maintenance and coordination of AOG shipments, client relationship development, ad account servicing for key accounts based on customer contracts and SOP’s
What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)
- 3+ years experience in Air Import/Export logistics or Freight Forwarding (will consider Ocean Export experience as well)
- Three years of experience in a role involving extensive client contact
- High school diploma of equivalent required
- Bi-Lingual preferred
- Familiarity with domestic and international geography including countries and major cities
