    Lead Engineering & Automation Team for assigned markets to support business improvements and renewals • Provide leadership to Qualify, Resource and Oversee the Engineering and Automation design process of all warehousing projects in assigned team within Asia Pacific Region which includes the planning, risk assessment, data analysis, material flow, determination of optimal solution concept, detailed solution design, manage automation vendor quotation and investment analysis. • Ownership of the Standard Work Framework for Engineering & Automation APAC, to ensure efficient engineering & automation simulation processes and aligned to the key steps and milestones represented in CLDM. Guide the EA team resources to ensure awareness and compliance. • Be the Engineering & Automation SME for matters in relation to any focused solutioning of product(s) or relevant EA tools. Constantly diagnose process and analyze engineered improvements for warehousing activities including but not limited to inbound, storage, outbound and VAS as an end-to-end process within 4 walls operations. • Work collaboratively with the Engineering & Automation community to ensure the templates and offerings are correctly deployed to maximize the business success through these products and specific verticals • Promote, leverage and facilitate the replications of best engineering & automation practices across EA Network • Lead multiple automation model product lifecycle management including conceptual and detailed design, support delivery when require, scalability and refinement (China applicable) Engineering and Automation for Continuous Improvements: • Engineering Project Tasks: o Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand the requirements, communicate data requirements and methodology. o Analyze detailed data to provide processes and workflows determination, position responsibilities and system flows in conjunction with physical material flows, identify tactical recommendations o Analyze contractual commitments, specifications, performance and other data to plan and develop logistics activities by using knowledge of industrial and/or process engineering, automation, ergonomics, business practices & requirements o Review the current layout and perform warehouse redesign as needed taking into consideration of net impact o Conduct time studies and workflow movement measurement analysis to determine the current productivity and cycle times, and hence review the usage of appropriate MHE in relation to product specification, operations requirement and layout where necessary o Validate and identify appropriate storage types and methodologies, both in manual and automated solutions, including applications of appropriate Automation and technologies for processes and/storage to increase productivity and/or capacity when applicable o Diagnose and define potential improvement opportunities and setting the productivity standards for the operations for ramp-up/ramp down scenario. o Clearly present and demonstrate the impact of designed processes to warehouse design, technologies required, service to customer and all stakeholders. o Drive project deliverables, presentation of results and recommendations to stakeholders o Produce cost efficient solution and supply pertinent information to support ROI/MIRR during Investment Application and approval facilitation. o Provide support our sites and operations with automation experiences sharing/coaching during specification, implementation and testing phases o Define specifications and act as a counterpart to our global and regional supplier partners for automation o Control and manage EA resources in supporting the Implementation team in the delivery of multiple automation to ensure the project is delivered as designed. Assist and provide guidance to project work breakdown structure, risk mitigation of project delivery, SIT & UAT test effectiveness, resolve errors or issues during implementation when needed. (China applicable) o Coordinate the support for the development of suitable maintenance contract and schedule for Automation Implementations when required (China applicable). o Support the establishment of nation-wide automation service center to ensure operation continuity including standard maintenance & repair program, WI of site diagnosis, training to site employees and cross-areas automation performance reviews (China applicable). • Engineering: Responsible for managing and developing solution reengineering for existing customers including nominated projects/tasks from operations and contract renewals via scheduling plan • Renewals: Trigger and engage the review of existing operations proactively to lead process and/or storage reengineering/improvements of Contract Renewals. Deploy detailed Engineering project when necessary. • Automation: Assess the feasibility of utilizing and expanding the use of Automation, Robotics, and Technologies on applicable process or setup to improve productivity on the operations activities, but not limited to Inbound, Putaway, Picking, Packing, Outbound and VAS. Work on the projects screening and apply strategic imperatives to drive innovation & automation in key operations. Assess the feasibility of applying automation / robotization in customer projects (new and existing businesses) Promote new automation model with broaden view of market trend and develop self-owned multiple automation integration capability in the fields of design, WMS functions, engineering delivery and system architecture (China applicable) • Digitalization: o Lead to realize automated data analysis tool of large-scale complex orders to prove process-reengineering effectiveness with in-depth optimization justification (China applicable, future scope to be transferred to Business Architecture team when established) o Drive integrated automation and digitalization solution and realization in appropriate roadmap to create business value through visualization and optimized algorithm benchmarking best practice in market (China applicable) • New Business: Support in new business/growth opportunities requiring Automation via technology check Coaching & Training • Support to develop and conduct training programs and provide coaching in areas of industrial engineering and automation to in-country junior resource as required based on participants’ training/coaching needs. • As a member of APAC Engineering & Automation Leadership, support on the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of standardized methodologies, tools and templates. • Act as Engineering & Automation focal point. • Ensure self and team members have an Individual Development Plan (IDP) identifying personal development and alignment to business needs • Conduct regular communication to ensure team members understand the company’s objectives and goals. • Periodical evaluation of team members’ performance based on their personal growth targets.

    Education • Bachelors’ degree, in Industrial Engineering / Logistics Engineering / Automation & Mechatronics Engineering • Postgraduate degree is an advantage. Related Experience • Experience in modern warehouse and distribution, supply chain design (automation and other modern warehousing innovation (robotics, digitalisation) is preferred. • Minimum 10 years’ professional experience in Logistics, warehousing or 3PL industries, preferably in an international logistics service environment. • 8+ years of relevant working experience of solution design/automation/process engineering in the logistics and supply chain industry; knowledge in 3PL is a plus. • Experience in VSM and/or Six Sigma is a plus • Experience in automation project realization or automated operation management is a plus. Technical Skills • Solid analytical skills with good commercial and technical understanding of Contract Logistics and Warehousing. • Excellent knowledge and/or extensive experience of logistics automation methods and techniques • Knowledge on operative IT systems/WMS and automation implementation or worked with automated logistics systems will be added advantage. • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel functions - VBA/VLOOKUP/PivotTable, and PowerPoint, etc), and knowledge about other Microsoft 365 Apps including but not limited VISIO/Stream/Power BI is a plus. • Practical working experience with AutoCAD. Experience in CLASS, Sketchup and/or other supply chain design software/tools is a plus. • Good knowledge in warehouse solution design; able to develop operationally feasible solution(s) to meet customer requirements. Soft Skills • Pragmatic financial acumen to optimize both investment level and ROI • Structured project approach and ability to deliver results on time, on budget, and to the excellent standards. • Good command in spoken and written English and language; other Asian language(s) is beneficial. • Good organization skills with experience of leading, growing and nurturing a team is preferred. • Self-starter with positive attitude to overcome problems effectively and able to work under own initiative with minimal supervision. • Highly responsible, initiative, proactive, and able to coordinate and motivate people and to work as a team under time pressure • Intercultural skills and working experience abroad are preferred • Ability to communicate and influence stakeholders.
