    Join our team as a Customer Service Specialist - Ocean Freight Operator!

    We are seeking a motivated individual with solid ocean freight operational experience to join our Ocean team as a Customer Service Specialist. Your expertise will be key in delivering exceptional service as the first point of contact for our customers, helping to drive business growth and strengthen relationships.

    Location: Felixstowe, UK

    Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:30 (Hybrid)

    Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)

    What will you be doing?

    As a Customer Service Specialist, you will:

    • Provide excellent customer service, developing strong customer relationships.
    • Handle operational aspects of shipments in collaboration with our National Production Units.
    • Consistently ensure that all documentation is completed accurately and on time.
    • Proactively address customer issues and escalate when necessary.
    • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the business and increase profitability.
    • Encourage customers to use Schenker e-solutions and contribute to the retention of existing business.
    • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOP) and service level agreements (SLA).
    • Support the invoicing process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

    Requirements

    About you

    • Proven experience in freight forwarding with a deep understanding of ocean imports and related processes.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and directly with customers.
    • Commercial acumen, with the ability to identify opportunities for growth.
    • Proactive, well-organized, and efficient in handling customer inquiries and resolving issues.
    • Good time management skills, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
