Job Overview
The Jr Cargo Claims Handler supports Schenker’s organization in processing cargo claims through investigation, adjustments, and handling of cargo/carrier claims as outlined in Global SOP , in accordance with:
- Applicable laws and international conventions
- Relevant contracts
- The applicable Commercial Terms and Conditions of the Schenker entity
- The applicable insurance conditions

Ensure Accurate Case Management: Maintain and manage case files accurately and up to date, measuring personal performance through KPIs and appropriate reports.
Support Leadership: Assist leadership by identifying potential issues and working towards effective solutions.
Ensure Accurate Data & Documentation: Capture precise information and documentation related to assigned claims in WebClaims.
Report Development & Maintenance: Responsible for creating and maintaining reports in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
- 2 years of experience
- International Agreements & Regulations: Understanding of international conventions for all transportation modes, as well as U.S. and Canadian regulations.
- Claims Processing Expertise: Knowledge and experience in handling claims procedures.
- Cargo Insurance Practices: Familiarity with cargo insurance industry standards and best practices.
- KPI Measurement: Understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and their evaluation.
- Analytical & Organizational Skills: Strong ability to analyze, structure, and manage claims processes effectively.
- English Communication Skills: Proficiency in verbal and written English for professional communication.
- Personal Integrity & Commitment: Demonstrates strong ethical values, reliability, and dedication to responsibilities.
- Independent & Solution-Oriented Workstyle: Ability to work autonomously while focusing on problem-solving.
