    Customer Service Specialist (Ocean)

    Location: Felixstowe

    Hours: Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours per week (9:00-17:30 during training, with possible adjustment to 7:00-15:30 after, shared hours with other team members)

We are looking for a Customer Service Specialist to join our Intermodal Ocean Freight team in Felixstowe! In this role, you will manage the seamless coordination of import/export cargo, ensuring top-notch service for customers, overseas partners, and service providers. If you have a passion for logistics and enjoy problem-solving, this could be the perfect fit for you.

    What Will You Be Doing?

    • Overseeing the entire delivery process: from understanding customer needs, booking transport, and coordinating payments to ensuring successful final delivery.
    • Monitoring rail and road deliveries daily, ensuring everything runs smoothly and that deliveries are completed on time.
    • Striving to maximise potential profits while maintaining customer satisfaction and addressing any accounting issues.
    • Handling queries and complaints efficiently and escalating unresolved issues to the department head.
    • Reporting any file that risks a loss or a significant profit reduction to the manager.
    • Documenting every step of the delivery process accurately for full transparency and accountability.

    Requirements

    About You:

    • Previous experience in freight forwarding is highly advantageous.
    • Strong customer service skills are a must.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage high workloads, especially in challenging situations.
    • Capable of making consistent, well-considered decisions.
    • Fast and accurate with data entry.
