Your tasks
The Pricing Manager is responsible to drive profitable growth within the region Europe by fostering the following key task areas:
- Evaluating target accounts and driving a sustainable pipeline
- Monitoring bid conditions and leading the tender activities,
- Contributing in cost and price calculations
- Executing the European pricing strategy derived from the great ocean plan
In close cooperation with the local pricing teams in the European cluster, the regional pricing teams as well as with the product management trade and LCL he/she manages European target opportunities towards success considering commercial and strategic objectives.
The regional Ocean Pricing Manager is in charge (both directly and indirectly) to:
- Analyze and recommend appropriate pricing for Schenker Ocean products and services for specific customers by applying guidelines, evaluating profitability analysis, analyze margin/revenue expectations and suggesting optimal pricing to ensure the European pricing competitiveness
- Decode and manage customer commercial bid feedback to drive success
- Join customer meetings to represent the European pricing
- Work closely with Tender Management, Country Ocean Heads, Trade Management, LCL Management, Reefer Management, Supply Chain Solution teams and Account Managers to develop successful strategies for new/ existing customers.
- Develop ongoing process improvements to drive an efficient and strong bid process and impact on related processes like implementation, rate reviews, digital/ automated solutions.
- Evaluate, decide and execute exception process to respond to bid requests outside of the global RFQ pricing process for key opportunities & markets that will impact the growth targets in Europe
- Support Sales Campaigns driven by sales planning and business development in alignment with the global trade and LCL management to foster joint growth in the respective field
- Monitor and support reporting in the following key areas: RFQ Hit Rate, Churn, Yield, Growth from SME to KAM business
- Support building a sustainable pipeline throughout pre-bid engagements and Game Plan development (strategic account development) for all European target accounts
- Build a solid bid knowledge within the European pricing team incorporating a post bid review, strategic set ups and follow up on action items that are needed to close the target bids successfully
- Enable and ensure continuous progress buying into the automate pricing path
- Support Head of Pricing in Growth Management and lead pricing sub products departments such as customer consol and the European ad hoc desk
Requirements
Skills Experience and Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate at all levels of business and across cultures and nationalities.
- Comfortable presenting to an audience
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel if required
- Proven track record in strategic bid management
- Deep knowledge on global bid management
- Functional know-how on global forwarding
- Deep market knowledge (customers, ocean freight rates/services)
- Basic knowledge in finance & good business practice
- Excellent written and spoken English Language
- Completed College / University degree (business administration, economics, logistics)
- Plus 5 years Freight Forwarding (related Industry) experience
- Profound knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (.xls, doc, ppt and others)
