Job Overview
As part of the Solutions and Execution Standards (SES) Team, the Senior Solutions Manager will support the Americas Region Solutions Design Team in achieving business growth targets within focus geographies, verticals and products. The ideal candidate will use their engineering, communication and analytical skills to support the development of innovative and compelling supply chain solutions for DB Schenker's customers.
What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)
* Technical Analysis - identify data needs and lead analysis to support solution development including the ability to deal effectively with ambiguous situations and address critical gaps in scoping by developing effective assumptions * Operational Design & Optimization - lead design efforts for new business including facility sizing, capacity planning, process design, labor planning, storage analysis, handling and storage equipment selection and location analysis * Financial Modeling - support operational budgeting and pricing using proprietary modeling tools * Proposal and Presentation Development - support development of proposal and presentation materials to convey the organization's capabilities, unique value propositions and approach to solving customer supply chain challenges * Communication - pro-actively lead communication and collaboration with internal cross-functional departments and external stakeholders and also interface directly with customers through all phases of solution design initiatives * Organizational and Industry Knowledge Development - keep abreast of relevant supply chain industry information and trends, innovations and technology as well as the organization's current customer base and operating capabilities * Implementation Support - provide engineering support for new business implementations or process enhancements * Supply Chain Modeling - support transportation modeling, CoG studies and supply chain network optimizations Working Environment: Assignment Complexity - Work in a team environment on complex logistics related challenges where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercise sound judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Ensure schedules, and performance requirements are met. Accountability - Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks will be necessary. Goal-oriented working style with an ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Impact of Decisions - Ability to quickly grasp messaging intent and develop clear and concise content is critical. Decisions related to messaging approach and content will impact the overall growth of the organization. Working Relationships - Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. Requires the ability to change the thinking of or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Scope - Ability to contribute to organizing and working within teams, establish clear timelines and accountabilities in support of the tender management process.

Requirements
What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)
Must be able to pass any federal/state/local government, airport, or company-required background checks, clearances, and/or drug and alcohol tests. Knowledge and Skills (The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel): § Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and Masters or MBA § Travel of 50%+ / Global depending on project requirements § Minimum 7 - 10+ years professional experience; Minimum five (5) year work history as an Industrial Engineer / 3PL warehouse engineer; Minimum three (3) years in like Solution Management role; Minimum five (5) years at 3PL § Experience in Hi-tech/Electronics, Consumer, Retail, and/or Aerospace Industry Verticals
